Although many gas sensing applications focus on the use of 2-port SAW devices, Thickness Shear Mode BAW devices make great gas sensor platforms for certain applications.  With exceptional values of Q and inherently better temperature stability, BAW devices can be configured for a wide range of applications.  Also, for high vibration environments, BAW devices can be packaged to be less sensitive to vibration-induced noise.
